Re: RIP Henry Gibson
Last movie I saw him in was Big Stan. But i thought it was a rather pointless role...particularly for him. It just didn't feel right.
Anyway, RIP, Werner Klopek.

Re: RIP Henry Gibson
It's gonna take me a lot longer to read all of this site than the board at IMDb! But I've started on it. Anyway, speaking of the Klopek character that he masterfully portrayed, I was wondering if Klopek was actually a Slavik name? It does sound Eastern European. Maybe Romanian?

In order to explain it to HorseInTheBasement: That's an inside gag we frequently use on this board which refers to the scene in which Art and Dave have their discussion about the Klopeks and Art bites in the steak and Dave bites in the apple.
Well on the one hand Klopek sounds Slavic, on the other hand, the names "Werner" and especially "Hans" seem to be of German origin.
Someone once mentioned that Reube seems to clap his feet together like a German soldier in one of the scenes (when the neighbours are in the Klopeks house).

Re: RIP Henry Gibson
In a town a couple of hours drive from where I live there a little fish 'n' chip shop that sell the best chips around. My best friend and I have come to refer to this shop as 'Klopeks' because the owner has a striking resemblance to Henry Gibson. We didn't see a Hans or Ruben; we think they might work out the back.

LOL, made me think about what would happen if the Klopeks were indeed running a restaurant ("Chez Klopék").
The waiter goes to the table, opens a small tin and simply says: "Saaaaaaaardine?"
Candles everywhere, they're offering you sugar substitute...
