BEER! "The cause of - and solution to - all of life's problems" - Homer

A coupla hundred beers.......

Now, it has to be said I do like my beer.
My favourite beer of all is German beer - NO SHADOW OF A DOUBT.
I can drink some Canadian but cannot drink Australian, British, Spanish, U.S., Dutch, Czech, etc. (EXCEPT Samual Adams...Man I do like that one if chilled perfectly...)

My favourite beer of all time?......If I was wrecked on a desert island and a crate of beer washed up...I'd like it to be Lowenbrau (or Pauliner) Oktoberfest. We once went camping in winter up in the mountains and man it was freezing...just right for the beer to be left outside but covered. Man...ice crystals forming...celebrating my graduation, me and my buddy slugged a damned good few of them puppies I'm tellin' ya.
Unfortunately, it's evaded me ever since. Can't get it from the wholesalers I got it from before. I do like CREST which is brewed with German hops (although it is 10%)
Whenever I watch Ice Cold In ALex I have to have a chilled bottle of Carlsberg or Carlsberg Export for the final scene.
This is possibly my favourite scene from a movie. Seen it a billion times. I actually have one of those gold-rimmed glasses from the 1950's. Got it from a Welsh guy in the U.S. Random. AND the opening frame; if you freeze it, I have that scene on glossy hi-definition film, frame mounted with their 4 autographs.

Soooooooooooooowhat beer you dudes drink?

I drink Budweiser and in the winter and spring, Shiner Bock. Did you know there was a theory put forth several years ago that civilization is due to beer?

I know it sounds odd, but the theory was that when people began growing grains, the primitive grains were too hard to be made into a very palatable bread so what actually happened is our ancient (wise) ancestors malted the grains instead of grinding them up, hence beer. Those guys were geniuses.

Not only do I tip my hat to 'em, I also raise my glass to 'em. Budweiser....have you tried the Budweiser made in Czech? Budvar? Personally Bud ain't to my taste.

Kronenbourg and Becks are cool.

I guess, concerning the quality, you can't get anything better than German beer. We even have a particular law which guarantees the excellent quality (German beer purity law).

I don't think Bud is too popular overseas, but it is the number 1 beer over here. Shiner Bock comes from a little brewery in Shiner, TX, the Spoetzl brewery. It has been around for years but probably is unheard of outside of Texas.

I have heard about the German beer purity law. It was enacted, i think, centuries? ago. Only 4 or 5 ingredients allowed - grain, hops, water, yeast (is there something else?) That would probably do away with a lot of beers sold today. A guy that works with me went over to the Czech Republic a few years back and came back raving about the beer - excellent and very reasonably price.

well, i have noo clue about beer, but i used to like dark beer. but after eating it with garlic bread one to many times, it has ruined my love for both dark beer AND garlic bread (makes me want to throw up when i smell garlic bread.. which is a pity cause i like garlic) and now the taste of dark beer.. ewwww

so i've moved on to lighter (in colour mind you) beer. and i cant really pick a fav. cause i've only tasted a few. lol but yes COLD beer is wonderful when you're realllyyy thirsty

Hmmm those dark beers, and weisse beers, are an acquired taste. I love Leffe. BUt some of those Monks beers make me heave. Her ein Britain we have a billion 'real ales'. But most of them are too heavy, too stadgy. I like really crisp, cold lagers.
