I'm SO going to buy this one here: Hopper is so inspiring.nondisclosed_email@example.com (RayPeterson)Tue, 14 Nov 2017 14:04:10 +0000 Re: Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21908,from=rss#post21908https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21908,from=rss#post21908Also closing my eyes and covering ears as I'm only on episode 4. I'm not going to listen to this. I'm not going to hear this now. Adding a Dragons Lair to the Garage is a possibility. However, the DL is rare and pricey. The Laser Disc players in them fail and there's no replacement, just like the CRT monitors. So a solid working DL runs about 2,000 - 3,000 USD on average. A bit over my price range. I'm steeling myself for episode 7. nondisclosed_email@example.com (HideousRagingInferno)Sun, 12 Nov 2017 01:52:13 +0000 Re: Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21907,from=rss#post21907https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21907,from=rss#post21907Haha, this has just been posted yesterday and is already trending, I think it's super funny: Stranger Things kids were nearly a Motown super group nondisclosed_email@example.com (RayPeterson)Fri, 10 Nov 2017 12:25:30 +0000 Re: Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21906,from=rss#post21906https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21906,from=rss#post21906Yeah, episode 7 felt so out of place. I can see that it brings a lot to the story but it could have been implemented better. Another thing that bothered me about Dig Dug is that the machine only allows 3 initials for score keeping, so its not possible to write MADMAX... Loved the 2nd season but for me it just didn't have the same impact as the first one?nondisclosed_email@example.com (DavePeterson)Thu, 09 Nov 2017 01:54:48 +0000 Re: Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21905,from=rss#post21905https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21905,from=rss#post21905Haha, that's indeed super nerdy. But also an important detail when it comes to creating an authentic 80's feeling. Nonetheless, I believe they usually take very good care of such details. Do you also have a Dragon's Lair arcade in your garage? One thing I can already tell you without spoilering anything: To me it felt as if each episode of season 2 was better than the previous one. The last two episodes were especially outstanding, The only letdown was Chapter Seven: The lost sister which sucked.nondisclosed_email@example.com (RayPeterson)Wed, 08 Nov 2017 13:56:33 +0000 Re: Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21904,from=rss#post21904https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21904,from=rss#post21904Yes I am just starting Season 2 and liking what I am seeing, EXCEPT!!!!! I have a hobby. This hobby has my garage filled with Arcade Games from the 1980's. Defender, Joust, Ms. PacMan, Donkey Kong, Missile Command. In the first episode they show an "80's" arcade with a character going for high score on Dig Dug. The Dig Dug Game CLEARLY has an LCD screen in it and not an original Cathode Ray Tube (CRT). As a nerdy arcade collector goober this bothers me. Otherwise, everything else is great! end rant nondisclosed_email@example.com (HideousRagingInferno)Wed, 08 Nov 2017 02:28:06 +0000 Re: Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21903,from=rss#post21903https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21903,from=rss#post21903I finally came to see the two seasons of Stranger Things now and wow did I love this show. This way, they are also more flexible in bringing in toys, games, music and movies which do not conflict with some timeline. However, in the pilot episode, when they are playing REO Speedwagon's "Can't fight this feeling", the son says "This is Top 40" so judging from this we could assume it takes place somewhen in 1985.nondisclosed_email@example.com (RayPeterson)Fri, 29 Jul 2016 13:16:45 +0000 Re: Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21470,from=rss#post21470https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21470,from=rss#post21470Hah! that would be cool!. Seems to be worth checking out. I just recently discovered a light-hearted comedy series which captures the 80's spirit very good as well. It's "The Goldbergs". It's some innocent humour combined with some warm moments, I really like it. And EVERY episode features lots of 80's references. Go check out the trailer: The Goldbergs - Trailernondisclosed_email@example.com (RayPeterson)Sat, 23 Jul 2016 01:59:06 +0000 Stranger Things (Netflix)https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21464,from=rss#post21464https://btheburbs.runboard.com/p21464,from=rss#post21464Anyone check this series out on Netflix? Its one of their originals. It's set in 1983 I think and they definitely pull from classic 80's movies like the Goonies and E.T. and Firestarter.nondisclosed_email@example.com (HideousRagingInferno)Fri, 22 Jul 2016 17:28:03 +0000
